Creating a new classroom only takes a few moments
To get started, click on the Create a new classroom button on the main login page.
Once you click on this button, you will be taken to a page with the following form, where you enter information about yourself, your school and your classroom.
Information about Yourself
You need to supply your name and email address, primarily so that we may contact you in case you forget your login information or to send
you an invoice when your 30-day trial is over. Remember that you can simply ignore the invoice if you do not want to continue using
our website.
Information about your School
Next is a checkbox that you should check if you were given a School Access Code and School Access Password by your school's director.
The purpose of this is to allow you to include your new classroom in a school that has already been created.
If you check this box, a place to enter this information will appear in place of the School Name and Time Zone inputs, as shown below:
Once you have entered the information you received, press the Access my school button, and you will see a list of any
classrooms in your school that may already have been created. If your classroom is listed, contact the teacher shown to
add you to the list of teachers in the classroom -- you should not create the same classroom again.
If you do not have a School Access Code and have not checked the box, you will need to enter your School Name and select Your Time Zone.
The School Name is shown at the top of every page, and can be easily changed later if it's not as you want it to be. The
time tone setting determines the time shown to parents for when pages are changed or photos uploaded. If your time zone is
not shown, select Other and contact us to set the correct time zone for you.
If you are a school director and will be creating multiple classrooms in your school, select the option that you will be creating
multiple classrooms. This will not only allow you to create additional classrooms, but will assign you a special School Administrator
login that will allow you to do things such as posting school-wide news, creating school-wide documents, or sending school-wide email.
Information about your Classroom
If you are a school director and would like to only create a school, and will let teachers create their own classrooms at a later time,
check the box that you will be creating your classrooms later. At the appropriate time, you can either create a School Access
Code and School Access Password to pass along to your teachers, send out email invitations that include a coded link that each teacher can
click on to create their classroom, or create new classrooms yourself as School Administrator.
Your Classroom Name will be shown at the top of every page under your School Name. Select the appropriate type for your classroom --
a School year classroom will end on a certain date and then a new classroom will start up after a vacation period, whereas a Full year
classroom will continue throughout the year with no vacation.
Next, you should select a Teacher Login ID and Teacher Password that will be shared with any other teachers in your classroom.
Both should be easy to remember, but complex enough to prevent unauthorized access to your classroom.
The Login ID can be anything, but cannot already be in use by someone else in your school or any other school. Passwords must be at least 4-characters, and are
case-sensitive.
Once your classroom is ready for parents to view, you will be able to set a different Parent Login ID and Parent Password that all
parents will use to login.
Press the button and you're done!
Once your information has been entered, press the Create Your Classroom button and your classroom will be created.
You will be logged in at that point as the teacher, and will be able to start setting up your class list, post your news, upload your
photos or do anything else you'd like to customize your classroom.
